Dr Yeralan was invited by the International University of Sarajevo to give a talk titled "Systems Science and Engineering" on March 3, 2017.

Dr Yeralan was a panel speaker at the EaZy Days on open access publications on October 3, 2016. The meeting was attended by major publishers and library staff of large universities.

Dr Yeralan spoke about open access from an academician's perspective. Open access from the viewpoint of publishing research results as well as the use of academic literature for classroom use were discussed.

Dr Yeralan was the master of ceremonies at the 36th National Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Conference (YAEM 2016), held July 13-15, 2016 in Izmir, Turkey.  He was also a featured speaker, introducing he on-line textbook An Introduction to Industrial Engineering through Computation.

Dr Yeralan was the opening speaker at the Science Unites All conference and fair, held at Yasar University on September 30, 2016.

The conference was organized as part of The European Researchers’ Night, which is a Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) action, under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020The European Researchers’ Night consists of a pan-European event taking place on the last Friday night of September.

An Introduction to Industrial Engineering through Computation is a concise cookbook that introduces the fundamental topics in industrial engineering through a series of computational experiments. The code is written the an open-source high-level engineering computation environment Scilab. The book is suitable as a textbook for an introductory engineering course.
